She enjoys turning challenging topics into interesting and compelling copy, and loves teasing out stories with a cultural twist; be it spending a day in an up-and-coming music producer's bedroom studio, investigating why naturism has such a dedicated following, or exploring a Japanese island's quest to become an independent nation devoted to contemporary art.
She's associate editor of music and culture magazine, Shook, and writes for publications including the Guardian, Sunday Independent, Marie Claire, Harrods Magazine, Arise and Mixmag.
Helene has worked extensively in the world of customer publishing, contributing to projects at agencies including Redwood, River Publishing and Wardour Communications. She has worked on pitches, along with launching, editing and writing for both newsstand and B2B magazines and websites for clients including Co-operative Travel, Hamptons International, BT, the Securities & Investment Institute, Royal Mail and Norwich Union.
In recent years, Helene has also moved into copywriting, providing content for company websites, press releases and other relevant marketing material. She is well versed in writing for SEO and using social media as a promotional tool.
In 2009, Helene edited her first book - branding agency HuntHaggarty's study of Chinese youth culture, China's Creative Voice. She's currently working on a few other book projects, both fiction and non-fiction.
